Maryland Renaissance Festival Dance Macabre 2008

Having worked with the group at Southern, we've since started a very successful 1-time-only parade every year on Maryland's closing weekend (also happens to be close to Halloween ;) ). This is our crew, consisting of village musicians, dancers from a local Markland group, some boothies who also know 18th century dance, and two of the best mimes in the DC area.

I will say it's very different slugging through 55 chilly degrees and avoiding mud patches than it is in 90 degree desert dust. :)

A good looking crew! I desire us of Northern Faire to look like that!

Admittedly, we have the advantage of some of them working in a shop that sells Elizabethan and Italian noble garb, making us one of the "richest" looking ones. Only doing 1 day (rather than trying to keep a team together a whole season) helps, too. :)

[but yes, 2009 was once again 55 degrees and a ton of mud, given that we had 2 inches of rain fall in 2 hours the day before!]
